Premiere Networks' Sal Cirrincione Scores Exclusive Radio Interview with Sir Elton John

LOS ANGELES, January 25, 2018 -  Sal Cirrincione, Premiere Networks Senior Director of Rock Programming and Specials, attended Sir Elton John’s press conference at Gotham Hall in New York yesterday, January 24, where the music legend announced his farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.  After the press conference, Cirrincione was the only representative for American radio to get a one-on-one interview.

Cirrincione has a long history of reporting on Classic Rock acts for hundreds of stations across the country, and he’s no stranger to the five-time Grammy Award winner, having sat with him on a handful of occasions.  Cirrincione spoke to the music icon about his decision to stop touring so he can help raise his two sons, his greatest achievement being his sustained success, and future projects.  When asked if there was anything he’d change or do differently, John said he wished he had never come under the spell of drugs and alcohol.

While there’s plenty of time until John ends his Yellow Brick Road farewell tour in 2021, he revealed where he wants it to end:  “I want to start in America and end in America because I owe this country so much. I love this country. The Troubadour (in West Hollywood) kick started my career in a big way. Without that, you know, I don't know what would have happened. So I'm very grateful to L.A. and I love New York. But I definitely decided that the last show will be in America. My dream show would be at Dodger Stadium because it makes sense.”

Affiliates of Premiere Networks and iHeartMedia stations across the country will air highlights from the exclusive interview this week.
