Keith Urban Joins The Bobby Bones Show's #ArtistToArtist Campaign for St. Jude
LOS ANGELES, July 24, 2015 – Bobby Bones, host of the award-winning Bobby Bones Show, recently launched an #ArtistToArtist campaign benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The campaign started as a joke when Bones decided to auction off a self-portrait he painted, but after raising $3,400 for St. Jude, he decided to invite his Country music friends to paint their self-portraits to benefit the children’s hospital.
Four-time Grammy Award winner and American Idol judge Keith Urban is the first to join the #ArtistToArtist effort. He recently called the show to accept the invitation – click here to listen to the audio, and click here to bid on Urban’s self-portrait. Bidding will close next Thursday, July 30, and all proceeds will benefit St. Jude.
Urban praised the work of St. Jude, “Everything that they learn and discover, everything they acquire there knowledge wise, is shared all around the world. It’s an extraordinary hospital, so that’s why the Country music community, radio, the artists, everybody, for a long, long, long time, have always been behind St. Jude.”
“We love helping St. Jude as much as possible, so we’re asking some of the great artists in Country music to have a little fun with painting and help raise money for a great cause,” shared Bones and co-host Amy. “Thanks to Keith Urban for kicking off the campaign!”
The Bobby Bones Show raised over $1.5 million dollars for St. Jude last year through on-air fundraisers, radiothons and charity concerts. In addition, Bones’ comedy band The Raging Idiots has performed and visited with patients at the hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
