FOX Sports Radio Celebrates 20th Anniversary

LOS ANGELES, August 17, 2020 – FOX Sports Radio (FSR), a division of Premiere Sports Network providing 24/7 live programming, is proud to announce that this month marks the network’s 20th anniversary. Athletes, coaches and friends from across the world of sports reached out to share congratulatory messages with the network. Premiere Networks and FOX Sports have enjoyed a long partnership that kicked off in 2000 with the goal of producing a home for industry-leading talent focused on delivering entertaining, informed and thought-provoking programming for sports fans. FOX Sports Radio launched in August of that year, and the network’s storied 20-year run has developed a loyal following of more than 14 million listeners across more than 500 affiliates nationwide with an unmatched weekday lineup featuring some of the biggest names in sports broadcasting, including Colin Cowherd, Dan Patrick, Clay Travis, Doug Gottlieb, Chris Broussard, Rob Parker, R.J. Bell, Jason Smith, Mike Harmon and Ben Maller.

Over the last few years, FSR also developed the strongest weekend lineup in its history, featuring a diverse ensemble of sports entertainment personalities, former players and analysts, including three-time Pro Bowler LaVar Arrington; former Notre Dame Quarterback and FOX Sports Big Noon Kickoff Analyst Brady Quinn; three-time Pro Bowler Lincoln Kennedy; 11-year NBA veteran Cuttino Mobley; and former NFL players Bucky Brooks, Ephraim Salaam, George Wrighster and Rich Ohrnberger. 

 

Most recently, FSR has become a digital powerhouse reaching millions of fans via podcasting and streaming on iHeartRadio and www.FOXSportsRadio.com. The FOX Sports Podcast Network has developed a robust lineup resulting in year-over-year total audience growth of +86% in July 2020, which also marked FSR’s best month ever in terms of podcast listens.  In addition to FSR’s 24/7 lineup, the network’s podcast offerings include The Herd Podcast Network featuring The Herd with Colin Cowherd, 3 and Out with John Middlekauff, All Ball with Doug Gottlieb, Inside the (Rob) Parker, and The ‘Boys and Girl Podcast with Jane Slater, as well as stand-alone original podcasts such as Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre, Wins and Losses with Clay Travis, the 5th Hour with Ben Maller, and Special Teams with Jason Smith & Mike Harmon.

 

On the streaming front, FSR’s audience grew +51% year over year in July 2020, making it the third best streaming month of all time for the network in a month where there were 22 days of no major team sports.
