Doug Gottlieb Coaches Team USA Men's Basketball to Gold Medal at 20th World Maccabiah Games
“Over the last month, I was honored to coach the men's open division Gold Medal winners for basketball at the Maccabiah Games in Israel,” shared Gottlieb. “Coaching 13 men to a victory, watching them grow to become a team, best friends and better players is incredibly rewarding. I haven't won a championship since my last gold medal, and let me tell you, there ain't nothing like winning. Congrats to the players - they made the plays, and I enjoyed the ride!”
This is a third gold medal for Gottlieb, who also won as a player on the U.S. Open Men’s Basketball Team during the Pan-American Maccabi Games in Mexico City in 1999, and the 16th World Maccabiah Games in 2001. Additionally, he took home a bronze medal at the 15th World Maccabiah Games in 1997.
