The Bobby Bones Show Raises $20,000 for Wounded Marine

LOS ANGELES, July 18, 2016 – Last week, iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show enlisted its loyal audience to help honor a wounded marine. Former U.S. Marine Sgt. Kirstie Ennis appeared on the popular Country morning radio show to share how she lost her leg serving as a helicopter door gunner in the military. After hearing her story, Bones and his on-air crew revealed they wanted to do something special to honor her service - proceeds from the sale of “America Strong” T-shirts on www.BobbyBones.com would be donated to purchase Ennis an all-terrain tracked wheel chair.  In less than a week, listeners of The Bobby Bones Show purchased enough T-shirts to raise $20,000, far surpassing the funds needed for the chair.

Ennis joined the program again this morning, July 18, to hear the great news and celebrate with the show.  Click here to listen to the audio.

This is just the latest charitable fundraising effort by The Bobby Bones Show.  Last month, proceeds from the sale of #PimpinJoy apparel were donated to the families of the Orlando shooting victims.  Listeners of the show helped raise $35,000 to benefit Equality Florida, the primary statewide organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.  In addition to the fundraiser, Country music stars including Kelsea Ballerini, Cam, Lindsay Ell, Dan + Shay and Brandy Clark stopped by the radio program to show their support with special, live musical performances.  The audio can be found here
