The Woody Show Welcomes Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins

LOS ANGELES, September 20, 2018 The Woody Show, which originates from iHeartMedia’s ALT 98.7 - LA's New Alternative and is nationally syndicated by Premiere Networks, welcomed Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins in studio this week.  The bandmates discussed a wide range of topics, including how they met; the evolution of Rock music; the upcoming Foo Fighters-curated Cal Jam 18 festival; being parents and more.  Below are a couple highlights from their conversation.

Their most-fulfilling moment so far:
Grohl: “Just surviving, honestly. Getting to the point where - I turn 50 in a couple months.  I honestly never thought any of this would last.  I’ve seen a lot of my friends not make it, so it’s like wow, I got to get this far and I’m still kickin’. I swear I wake up every day and I’m just like, ‘ouch,’ first of all, I say ‘ouch,’ and then I’m like, ‘wow, I get to do it again. This is great.’”

Their advice for new artists:
Grohl: “First thing is you really have to write good songs. That’s it. That is it. If you want anyone to come and see you and then see you again, and then buy your records and stuff, you’ve just got to write great songs…And then don’t expect anything and kick ass live. That’s all you gotta do… You win the lottery if you actually get paid.”
