Michael Brown - former Under Secretary of Homeland Security and Director of FEMA, and host of The Michael Brown Show on Denver’s 630 AM KHOW - has been named the full-time host of the Premiere Networks-syndicated radio show, The Weekend.

Each week on the popular, three-hour program, Brown offers listeners a fresh take on weekend talk with his provocative insights into current events, national security, politics and culture. The entertaining and relevant program is highlighted by Brown’s smart, funny and insightful point of view as a former Washington insider.

The Weekend with Michael Brown can be heard on more than 300 stations nationwide, including markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Phoenix, Denver and Portland.

About Michael Brown: 

Prior to his work in radio, Brown served in both administrations of President George W. Bush. He was the first Under Secretary of Homeland Security from 2003-2005, and the Director, Deputy Director and General Counsel, Federal Emergency Management Agency, from 2001-2005. Brown holds two Presidential Commissions and was a member of the White House Consequence Management Committee following the attacks of 9/11. He chaired the White House Transition Team for Emergency Preparedness & Response, Department of Homeland Security. Brown was a member of the National Security Council’s Deputies Committee.

During his tenure in the Bush Administration, Brown served as the representative to NATO’s Civil Emergency Planning Committee. He worked on various matters in Russia, the European Union and its member nations, and throughout Southeast Asia. He represented the United States in Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and other nations affected by the 2004 tsunami. He coordinated the deployment of medical and rescue teams to Bam, Iran after that nation’s devastating earthquake, the first such teams to enter Iran since the Iranian hostage crisis.

Brown is the author of Deadly Indifference: The Perfect [Political] Storm in which he poignantly describes the role of politics in a risk-averse society facing natural or manmade disasters. He has traveled around the world speaking on issues of homeland security, crisis management and personal resilience.

Brown is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City University School of Law. Brown has been an adjunct professor of law at the OCU School of Law and the University of Denver School of Law where he taught courses on legislation, state and local government, and national security. He is a co-owner of The Blue Cell which provides homeland security and emergency management training and exercises to clients across all fifty states.
